قصة ممتعة للغاية.لم استطع ان اتركها حتي انتهيت منها.
I've heard so much about this series and wondered what all the fuss was about, so I finally decided to jump into it head first and find out for myself. I'm glad that I did.
"The Hunger Games" is an amazingly gripping tale of a young girl that takes her sister's place in a deadly game. I was mesmerized not only by the game, but the fantastic characters. Katniss is one character that I cannot get out of my mind; she's everything you could ever want in a heroine. The other participants in the game a ...more

I'm almost ashamed to admit I could not put this book down. I was expecting total YA drivel and was pleasantly surprised to be hijacked into this enjoyable, but light read. A mix of Shirley Jackson's short story "The Lottery", the TV show "Survivor" and Roman gladiators this book did not disappoint.

wow, this is a really difficult book to review. As much as I liked it, it made me uncomfortable. What a horrible world to have to live in when we put are young people in such horrible situations! But, are there a lot of young ones in horrible situations right now, too?
The brutality and horror during the game were difficult at times, but what was the most difficult was the conditions from where Katniss came. A child without at childhood, a girl not able to enjoy being one.

This storyline is a little disturbing, dealing with children and war(think Ender's Game). Post-war North America. After a big rebellion the government wins the war and as punishment demands tributes from each district (in the form a a 12-18 year old child) to fight in a battle to the death. This book was very-well written. I couldn't put it down. The story draws you in. A few disturbing scenes. I hope they never make it into a movie!

I saw the movie before I read the book but there was a gap between viewing and reading. I really enjoyed the book far more than the movie (as I usually do). Its the insight into the characters minds that I really enjoy and that's something that can't be captured in a movie the way it can in words. I am looking forward to finding out what happens next.
