What Members Thought

It was hard to remember that this was non-fiction and not a novel. Katherine Boo's skill as a story teller had me hooked from cover to cover. I'll never look at my trash quite the same way again.

A great achievement in narrative journalism, empathic, insightful, always interesting and nuanced. I wish more non-fiction accounts could be told through real-life stories and not simply chronologies of politicians elected, laws enacted and wars fought. If you know of any others that are like this work, please do tell me. (I would say Nothing to Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea is another such work I'd recommend.)
