Unless you are 100% completely focused on what is happening in this story, don't read it.
I kept tuning out, mind drifting to other places. Once I snapped out of my daydream and paid attention to the story- the words and the painting enveloped me.

This book makes it onto my All-time Favorites bookshelf. The story, the writing, the mysticism, the humor and sadness, the richness of all of it leaves me wanting to read it over and over. It has been about two years since reading that I am actually updating my reviews, but it still has a strong presence in my thoughts. When you don't stop thinking about a book, it is a good one :)

Big, sprawly, unwieldly, comic, and still somehow charming. A book that can take a lot of exploration and discussion that still manages to satisfy on a simple entertainment level.
