I don't know where to begin to describe just how good this writing is. The story was fantastic! The writer makes you truly feel for these characters. You feel as if you are watching from the same room because the descriptions are so vivid. I have not read anything this emotion-packed for a long time. Highest recommendation!

A very controversial book according to different reviewers but I liked in any way, despite its ending. It remind me in some way Mark Haddon´s book. This is book-ray from Bookcrossing which will follow to Eileen in UK.

One of the most surprising books I've read in a while. Wroblewski's writing full of depth and his descriptions and details are vivid. Entirely worth hauling around the 500+ pages.

I kind of put off reading this book for awhile, I am not a dog person and really am not fond of books or movies that feature animals, but I kept hearing how great this one was, so I relented and picked it up! What can I say, I LOVED it, so much in fact I finished it in two days! The writing is just gorgeous, the characters beautifully written, just a really, really great read!

Beautiful, beautiful book. I hesitate to 'review' it. Just read this book. I loved it and I want to read it again -- this is one of those books that's likely to grow even more beautiful on a second or third reading. This is Edgar's story, but it's also the story of his family, of dogs, of a community, of the land. Read this book.
