The movie did not do this one justice. Patricia Highsmith's Ripley is one of the best characters in a mystery. Absolutely fantastic series.

Even though I have seen the movie before, I couldn't recall exactly the plot. So it was like reading a brand new story for me.
The story was quite gripping. I felt that there was no way Tom could have gotten away with murders for this long, but the author never assured me one way or the other until the very end. Despite being nearly 300 pages long, I didn't feel like I was close to Tom. I knew him, sure, after the entire book, but I just didn't feel close. So 3-star it was.
