What Members Thought
My four-star rating is based on the translation by Robert Fagles. Based on experience earlier this year with translations of the "Inferno" that were vastly different in quality, I am motivated to revisit "The Odyssey" to try out some of the other translations. But first, I think I need to read "The Iliad".

This one is hard to get through, even for my honors students. I use a chapter version with all my other classes, but recommend the full text for anyone who likes mythology and thinks he can handle the higher reading level.
The Sirens can still be heard in Sorrento. Listen carefully...it is but a mere whisper now.
