I set out to read a couple pages of this book before bed and every night it had me staying up past my bedtime. This book has so much heart; I truly loved it and will be recommending it to many.

A series of good essays reminds me not only why I like Ann Patchett as an author but also that I need to read more essayists.

i typically don’t enjoy essays, but i thoroughly enjoyed this book. the stories and narrating were both compelling and riveting. they were something i could relate to, even if not in entirety. love, life, marriage, kids. it didn’t get a 5-star from me because i felt the stories fell apart a bit toward the end. even the narrating fell it was jumbled around. not sure what happened, or if it was really the book. still, quite enjoyable.

Love Ann Patchett, and this was a nice collection. It’s probably time to catch up on her novels.
