What Members Thought
Trying to catch up on my backlog of reviews before the end of the year. Beloved is a book that feels like I should have read before now (though I've read other Morrison). It is not an easy read (both in subject matter and complexity), but still one I'm glad to have read. Taking a real-life story as inspiration, Morrison landed on the perfect character/plot/metaphor to explore how slavery continues to linger as a presence in our country's history.
