Another amazing read by American Pastoral. I like Roth's ramble on writing. I can also identify with the area where he's writing because I went to college & lived around there for about 7 years. I'm going to get another Nathan Zuckerman novel this afternoon. ...more

Easily one of the worst books I have ever read. Among its many faults, completely woman-hating. I can't imagine a scenario where I'd be willing to read Roth again. ...more

I like the way this book explores the development (demise) of a culture, a family, a character simultaneously - the gentleness of the reproach.
