This book was very well written. The main character, Gifty, is the daughter of Ghanaian immigrants in Alabama. She grows up in a family wracked by severe mental illness, drug addiction and abandonment. Beautifully written. This is a quiet book on science, faith, addiction, grief and the immigrant experience. Takes place in the US and Ghana.
