i always enjoy learning while reading although i rarely remember what i have learned..lol. i wonder about the relationship she had with her lifetime lab assistant, bill. did she take advantage of his work do to the fact that she made much more money than he did ? i learned more about trees than i needed but i enjoyed the book.
The writing is lovely. I also think the author very carefully chose what she wrote, keeping much private. She provides us with a new way to think about soil, plants, trees. It is not a perfect book but it is well worth reading.
Took me several tries, but I finally finished this book. And I am so glad I did. It is a lovely love story, about science and found family, about motherhood and the immense world around us.
