What Members Thought
I thought this was a lovely book while I was reading it. Now, a couple of months later I can barely recall what it was about. Of course that may say more about me than about the book.
This book was so evocative of childhood. It takes place decades before my own childhood, as World War I is coming to an end, but the sensory details, emotional intensity and connection, or disconnection with people feels completely true to my experience. It reminded of moments, sensual and emotional that I had forgotten. So glad I read it.
