It seems to me that readers of this book fall into one of two categories: 1 to 2 star raters and 4 to 5 star raters. And I can see how you can be in both camps. For me it was an interesting reading experience. The first 110 pages I read in one sitting - very rare and very unexpected. I lost momentum in the middle, and then by the end, couldn’t stop reading until the very end.

I realize all of the above does not really amount to a review, but I’m not sure I have the words to describe or review thi

Wow! That was different. Extremely different. Part of me wants to shake my head BUT... then I can’t keep reading and reading.

It is a largely-drawn, unusual, a never-seen-written-before (meaning: unique!) creative (I would say so!)-themed novel. Each time you the reader might step away from the said novel there is something about it that resonates and brings the characters (over 160!) to life. I finished this book yesterday and am still wondering what I think of it. Our book club leader jokingly tried to "sell" it to us by saying, "....there's a lot of white space..." I don't know how anyone could read it as an audio book. First, you have to acknowledge that it represents a great feat of imagination. It took some time to figure out what was going on and there are still points I missed. Why were some of the denizens of the graveyard "staying" on and others were suffering horrors in the ...more

More Our Town than Our Town. A dead child, his grieving father, and a cast of characters who are at times fun, at times morbid and continually struggling to understand such a loving relationship that is so foreign to most of them. Admittedly, this book is weird. It’s not for everyone and can be hard to follow. Still, I’m glad I picked it up.
