What Members Thought

This is the story of one of the daughters of an American-Chinese couple.
The book starts with her death and describes how the police and the family try to figure out what could have happen with her.
The immigrant issue was treated quite superficially by the author, in my humble opinion.

This was a very touching of a family whose dysfunction has led, in one way or another, to the death of their teenage daughter. The parents in this family are a Chinese American man and a white American woman, both well meaning, but things go wrong in this family in a thousand different ways. Most painful to me was watching how misplaced expectations from parents can crush a child. A well written book and an unusual, compelling story.

I finished this book, and basically...

Yeah.
This is an excellent book, but it is extremely emotionally taxing.
Everything I Never Told You is the story of a family recovering from a tragic loss. It moves back and forth in time, so that you can experience what led up to the tragedy, and fall through the canyons of grief alongside them afterwards.
One day, Lydia walked to the lake next to the family house. She unmoored the rowboat from the dock and rowed out into the center. She vanished.
