There are six or seven stories within Bridge of Sighs, and it would have been a much better book if Russo had chosen just one or two to include therein. Although he has only one first-person narrator, he uses multiple perspectives, getting inside almost every character he puts into his small town in upstate New York. He offers too many issues to ponder and resolve, too many factors in his people's lifes that are introduced but fade away without full examination. Do editors stand in awe of Pulitz ...more

Another great epic book by Richard Russo, describing the life of 3 typical american families and how their lives entwined in each other.
