Well everyone's already quoted the warm and fluffses, what was I gonna add to the discourse?
That one obviously.

"You are a side effect," Van Houten continued, "of an evolutionary process that cares little for individual lives. You are a failed experiment in mutation."

When I heard about Zach's story it made me think of this book.
Zach Sobiech was diagnosed with cancer at the age 14 years old. Recently he was given a diagnoses that wasn't favorable. He wrote a song for his girlfriend called Clouds. It has been #1 on iTunes. Zach died on Monday.

Oh, John Green... You brilliant, but mean, mean man! How can you do this to me??? I mean, I knew I'd need a tissue, but this many???
And that was just the start. Green creates a story of sadness that pulls you in from the first few pages. Hazel Grace and Augustus are two adolescents battling cancer. These richly drawn characters meet and feel the full-range of typical teenage attraction. But, sadly, their love story is flawed from the start---by the cards life has dealt them. I am not sure what to say or how to say just how much I loved this book.
The story is about a 16 year old girl who is more or less forced by her parents to join a cancer support group in a basement of a church. There she meets a boy, Augustus Waters. Augustus Waters is just perfect. With his side “fake smoking” cigarette and his everything that makes him appealing.
Characters: The characters were perfect. I loved them all.
Positives: I finished this book at 1:30am. I was sobbing. It was breathta ...more

I love books that make you think. I especially love books that make you think about things from a different perspective. This is one of those books. It's witty, emotional, heartbreaking, and honest. I literally love Augustus Waters!

This is a difficult review to write for me. I was about two thirds of the way through when my Nan passed away unexpectedly. Yeah ok so she didn't die of cancer, but reading a book about life and death when you experience it's reality can be quite traumatic. At least that's what I expected!
My husband suggested I leave it where I was. Why put myself through the grief? I thought maybe the experience would be cathartic. But you know what? I am so pleased I read on and finished this book!
