This was not your normal romance story... In fact, normal is one of the last words you would use to describe Noah, Echo or their relationship. Echo was such a strong character. She has been through so much heartache. Not only has she lost her brother Aires, the one person who she felt loved her unconditionally, but she has had a major trauma that she has not even fully discovered. It has destroyed a lot of things impo 5 Stars!

This was not your normal romance story... In fact, normal is one of the last words you would use to describe Noah, Echo or their relationship. Echo was such a strong character. She has been through so much heartache. Not only has she lost her brother Aires, the one person who she felt loved her unconditionally, but she has had a major trauma that she has not even fully discovered. It has destroyed a lot of things important to her; her reputation, friends, art etc. Noah hasn't had it easy either. After losing both parents in a fire, he is in foster care separated from his two little brothers. He may be a sexy, tough, bad boy but there is a side of him that you will fall for! He is loving, loyal, and obviously a family centered guy. I adored him! Noah and Echo though both damaged, develop a beautiful but difficult relationship.

Her eyes met mine again. "So what does this mean for us?" I lowered my forehead to hers "it means your mine."

Seriously loved Noah!

Echo and Noah's journey was full of heartache, healing, and most importantly acceptance. Their counselor Mrs Collins was great. She truly cared about the both of them and went above and beyond to help them. I have to say I really hated Echo's mom (view spoiler) her dad could be selfish at times, and very controlling, but I think he really did love Echo and want what was best for her. Now the whole Ashley situation was something else... Another character I lothed was Grace. What. A. Bitch! Just saying... Worst friend ever! Lila on the other hand was a wonderful best friend. She was supportive of Echo and didn't turn her back on her. I also loved Isaiah, him fixing Aires car was great and he was like family to Noah. Beth I didn't care for at first but she really grew on me! I especially loved the relationship between Noah and his brothers. I couldn't get through a scene with those three without crying. It was bittersweet what happens with them at the end but I think Noah realized it worked out for the best.

There were many points in this book I ended up in tears. I couldn't help myself. The story touched me. It also had funny parts too. I wanted to savor this book and make it last, but that seemed impossible because I couldn't put it down! It was a truly beautiful story of pain, love, heartache, discovery, understanding and acceptance. If you haven't read this book you are missing out!!!

Echo's life can be described as anything but NORMAL. She lives with a father who failed her in so many ways and a new step-mother that let's just say came into the family in a very unconventional way. Echo has physical scars that were brought on by a bi-polar depressed mother who tried to kill her in an attempted suicide plot to reunite both of them with Aires, their dead brother and son. The physical scars were bad, but the emotional scars were unbearable. So much so that Echo suppressed all memory of the incident that horrible night the Stained Glass and her mother and father changed her life. Now Echo is fighting a battle of wanting to remember what happened with the help of her counselor and being terrified that remembering will turn her into the person she fears the most...her mother!

“Trust. Why not ask me to do something easier, like prove the existence of God? Even God had given up on me.”-Echo

"Sometimes the hardest thing and the right thing are the same." In Noah's life, this is the decision he has to make.

Noah's life is far from NORMAL. Losing his parents in a horrible house fire, and now his brothers because of the state. Noah is left with nothing. No family. No desire to follow any rules and definitely not have any authority figures in his life. Being moved from foster home to foster home his one brave decision to stand up to an abusive Foster parent cost him any chance of getting his brothers back. Determined Noah seeks to stop at nothing to reverse the mistake and fight with everything he has to get custody of his brothers and reunite his family. Now Noah is fighting with the decision of taking his brothers from their foster parents or trusting them with their lifes.

What an emotional story! My heart was ripped from my chest so many times.

The story of Noah and Echo is not an easy one.

They both have suffered from traumatic tragedies.

They both have to learn to cope.

They both have something to gain...Normal.

They both have found help in Mrs. Collins and each other.

The feelings that this book elicited were raw. They were heart-wrenching. Real. My heart ached, for the little boys, for Noah, for Echo. I cried for their loss. I wanted to reach in and wrap ...more

Pushing the limits isnt just a love story, it deals with complex issues such as death, mental health and the foster care/state system.

The story is told with two POV, and is a gritty realistic storyline, the only reason I have not given the book 5 stars is because at times I found the conversations betweeen Noah and Echo slightly cheesy. This is a perfect read for any YA/Romance fan.

Two words... Noah Hutchins.

How freaking sweet can one "bad boy" be?!?! I really really enjoyed this book. It was a huge page turner. I loved Echo and Noah's relationship. It was so mature for their age. They just got each other. They both have had their share of grief, but together they are stronger for it.

Some of the secondary characters were stupid and really bothered me. Grace for example was a total biyatch and I think how Echo handled that situation was pretty unrealistic. It took away fr ...more
