I adore KA's storytelling, and Own the Wind is another great example of her ability to create loveable characters and a story that will keep you turning the page. I enjoyed Shy and Tabby's book and look forward to continuing the series.

Once again, another Kristen Ashley book to add to the ones that I have fallen in love with! When I first started this one, I was not to sure whether I was going to like Shy or not? I am getting frustrated with the amount of books lately that have the hero sleeping with other woman while in love with the heroine. It never sits right with me, and it is because I am a sucker for a romance where they are swept off of their feet! I love instant attraction, and instant faithfulness! However, I always try to keep an open mind, and I am glad I did with this story as the payoff was worth it in the end!
Shy turned out to be very dedicated to his Tabby, and for that I forgave him for his transgressions!
This may have been the first book in the series: Chaos; but a lot of the characters were introduced in the "Dream Series" book: Motorcycle Man. We all remember Kane "Tack" Allen, and his girl; Tyra. That was also where we met Tack's "Brothers" from his Motorcycle Club, and his children: Rush and Tabitha, aka "Tabby." Well, this story is about Tack's daughter Tabby, and one of his beloved brother's; Shy. Shy and Tabby begin being attracted to each other when she is 16 years old; but in true Kristen Ashley style, there is a long road they both go on before they ever become a couple. That journey is not always a pleasant one, and Tabby goes through a tragedy long before she even has a chance at her HEA. The road is a very rocky one, and Shy continues his playboy ways, even as him and Tabby grow to be very close friends. When they finally do give in, and realize that there is no other; sparks fly and there love grows to epic proportions.
I loved their romance, even though Shy tends to be rough around the edge's all he wants is to have a family again. After losing his parents to an extremely tragic and violent ending, him and his brother have only had each other for so long. Tabby shows them how to be a family again, and also gives him a home. He also will stop at nothing to keep his girl, even if that means going against her father and his club.
Nothing is ever smooth sailing in romance land, and these two have to work extremely hard for their light at the end of the tunnel. When they finally get it, it is such a beautiful thing!
In the words of Shy:

"I was a part of an us and I was happy. Some motherfucker killed my parents and took that from me. Now I'm an us again, and that's what I'll be with my woman and the family we make until the day I fucking die."

"I'm puttin' my ring on her finger, I'm givin' her babies, and when she's laid to rest, that ring I give her will still be on her finger."

I have only recently been devouring Kristen Ashley's books; but I am so grateful to have found them. They are full of entertainment, drama, extreme love, alpha males, and of course hot sex! What more can you ask for in a great romance? As always, I look forward to where the next KA book will take me, and the roller coaster of emotions that I will be on.. ...more

It's not this author, it's me.

Huge Sigh. I've come to terms with the fact that KA books are not for me.
Motorcycle clubs are not for me.
Alpha males whose main dialogue consists of "babe" and "feel me" are not for me.
Lengthy monologues about "feelin me" are not for me.
"In my bed" is not for me.

I could go on but I think you get my point, it's just not for me. 50% DNF ...more

I loved this book! I love all things Chaos! Shy is so sexy, loving, B.A. biker, thoughtful, caring, and hot! Loved the story of Tabby and Shy. I really like how the author pulls the main characters from all her books together. I cannot wait for KA's next Chaos book, Fire Inside!

There is no such thing as a bad Kristen Ashley book. Some are better than others, some speak to my soul while a few have left me wanting. Own the Wind sadly was not one of my favorites. While I loved seeing Tabitha Allen all grown up and I loved the few glimpses of Tack and Tyra, the story felt too slow and the plot long winded. It wasn't until the 70% mark that things started picking up for me. Overall, not my favorite but I will absolutely continue the series. ...more
