I had never even heard of this author before logging in to GR and seeing this cover splashed all over my update page. On a whim, I decided "What the hell?" and gave it a go.

Within five pages of the prologue, I was HOOKED!!! Jocelyn (Joss) meets Brendan on the streets of Edinburgh. Audiobook Review - April 2015
I loved On Dublin Street just as much the second time around! I've just started listening to Audiobooks to keep me company on my long commute each day and this kept me occupied in a good way. The narrator was excellent especially with all the Scottish characters. Her accents were very authentic. She also did a great British accent too. I'm usually setting myself up for dissapointment when it comes to really hyped up books. Usually I like them, they leave me with a nice feeling but I don't really feel like I should whack five stars on them like everybody else because if I did that to every book that gave me a nice and fuzzy feeling then half of my 'read' shelf would be 5 stars.

However finally I have found a book where I totally understand why all of my fellow reviewers were raving about it.

Usually I like them, they leave me with a nice feeling but I don't really feel like I should whack five stars on them like everybody else because if I did that to every book that gave me a nice and fuzzy feeling then half of my 'read' shelf would be 5 stars.

However finally I have found a book where I totally understand why all of my fellow reviewers were raving about it.

The thing that sets this book apart from your average contemporary is the characters and the setting.

Firstly being an Australian I really enjoyed the banter between Braden and Jocelyn about words such as 'jumpers', 'sweaters', 'knickers' and 'panties' because here in ausland we are a nice mix between the two, thus I was always amused and never confused with the use of local slang. I also loved the idea of this being set in Scotland because really the only thing better than a Scottish man with a Scottish accent is an Irish man with an Irish accent (sorry Scottish people but JD Robb's Roarke has it over any man of any nationality).

I find that in many contemporary romances a harsh past is thrown in there for drama and angst's sake. I.e. sexual assault. However at times many contemporaries limit the tragic pasts to nightmares and a few insecurities that are ultimately swept away by a rich and handsome alpha male. This was not the case in this book. Jocelyn is broken, she admits, she knows that she is crazy and messed up and is even willing to seek help of her own accord without the push of an Alpha male that has to take care of her. That said to some extent Braden helps Joss deal with her issues, however I liked how this book finished with a happy ending, but with Jocelyn still acknowledging that she was fighting an uphill battle, that she was always going to have issues but that perhaps seeking connections with people (not just Braden but Ellie and her family too) she might be able to at least have some support when dealing with this issues. I think this idea made more of a statement than the 'oh lets get married and have babies because all you needed was a controlling and dominating male to fully heal you'. Joss isn't healed, but she is healing.

"Sometimes the clouds weren't weightless. Sometimes their bellies got dark and full. It was life. It happened. It didn't mean it wasn't scary, or that I wasn't still afraid, but now I knew that as long as I was standing under it with Braden beside me when those clouds broke, I'd be alright. We'd get rained on together. Knowing Braden he'd have a big ass umbrella to shelter us from the worst of it.

While this is definitely one of my top ten favorite ebooks, the audiobook version of On Dublin Street is nothing short of fucking spectacular, and is easily my favorite of the 400+ audiobooks I have listened to thus far. It is the only book listed for the narrator, Paula Costello, so hopefully it is her debut narration and we'll be enjoying many more books read by her in the future.

I was hooked from the 1st page....This book was fun & sexy..... Joss is defensive and refuses to let anyone get close....but sexy Braden comes along with his possesiveness & raw passion to turn her world inside out!!!......highly recommended....!!!
