Sigh...my first Kristen Ashley book did not disappoint!!
such a good book! the story was a little weird at first I mean who lets some dude pop into your house in the middle of the night for a year and a half and not only do you never speak to him but you don't know his name!! lol who does that?! but I got into it..but the men in this book are fan-fucking-tastic..seriously, Hawk so hott but I can't wait to read Mitch and Tack's books! UGH! LOVE THEM!! ...more

My fifth Kristen Ashley book and first of the Dream Man series. Classic Kristen Ashley with the alpha males and alpha male clashery, woman recovering from the damage of previous relationships, man coming to terms with his own demons, kidnappings and Colorado setting - except this time there are three hot guys. Yep, THREE. I have to admit I had a love/hate relationship with both Cabe (Hawk) and Gwen. Cabe because he could really be an ass. I mean seriously, sneaking in and out of women's houses f My fifth Kristen Ashley book and first of the Dream Man series. Yep, THREE. I have to admit I had a love/hate relationship with both Cabe (Hawk) and Gwen. Cabe because he could really be an ass. I mean seriously, sneaking in and out of women's houses for a few hours in the night, claiming them and having them on rotation? (Although in his defense he says he does NOT have a schedule.) And Gwen, her giving in all the time was frustrating. There were a few times she should have been WAY more upset at Hawk than she was and WAY more vindictive, but she just couldn't hold her own. The whole "mystery man who visits in the night" makes for an intriguing storyline, if you can stomach the loss of some of your self-respect along the way. I'm not judging because I don't know if I'd be able to turn Hawk down either, but I think Gwen could have regained some dignity if she stood up for herself a little better and a little more. Surprisingly, their romance redeemed itself in my eyes, but that's not to say I didn't struggle with it at times.

Also, if you're going to be a little slutty, why not go all out? I mean why stop at Hawk when Mitch and Tack are drooling all over you and ready to start wars? Just kidding. Kind of.

I liked this book because lots of eventful things, (break-ins, drive-bys, kidnappings, secrets coming to light), happened along the way that kept me interested. Also, Kristen Ashely writes GREAT epilogues. I mean it.

I'm also learning that she has a knack for writing books that can stand alone but still have connecting threads. You don't have to read them in order, but you get rewarded with more depth of character if you do. I will say that this book did a good job of setting up the characters who will star in the other books in the Dream Man Series (well, the men anyway). In the Colorado Mountain Series, each leading man was newly introduced in each book (except for Chace, who did make more than a few appearances in Lady Luck before starring in Breathe). Although some characters in the Mountain Series overlapped, the connections were typically filled in later, almost retroactively. However, this book sets the stage for Brock, Mitch, and Tack, and since I've been introduced and got somewhat acquainted with them, I'm looking forward to hearing their stories. The Nightingale's and their crew (from the Rock Chick series) make a few appearances in this book. Their cameos sparked my interest about their whole dynamic, and since the Rock Chick Series came before the Dream Man Series, I might have to check that series out too and learn what makes them go to guys. ...more

My Hot-o-Meter was ringing like crazy!

The hot-o-meter started ringing like crazy as hot guys descended on me, my car and Tack from two directions. Boy was I glad I curled my hair.
I happened to be stuck on the highway this weekend due to an accident. I turned off my car reached in the back seat and started reading the first of the Mystery Man -Dream Man Series. I loved KA and this was another one of her good ones. Hawk and Gwen sure do know how to heat up a room. I loved the suspense and drama. As soon as you thought it was 'happily ever after' another monkey wrench is thrown in the mix and keeps you guessing. Loved it! ...more
