Forbidden is a tragic story about a taboo topic most authors wouldn’t even think to write about. I truly admire an author for even attempting to write a love story about incest. I've avoided reading this for the longest time not only because of the controversial subject but because the promise of a heartbreaking ending required mental preparation that I never seem to be ready to do. I love depressing books, I really do. I connect most with lonely characters who're broken and misunderstood. But no amount of spoilers, self-encouragement and peer support prepared me for the anxiety and the devastating direction that this book took.

This book piqued my interest after everyone in my update feed seems to simultaneously DNF it. WTF, right? But it really isn't for everyone. I actually wasn't expecting to go beyond the 30% mark so this review is actually a surprise.

wouldn't recommend, the storyline did nothing for me.... but its really well written so im conflicted on the old star system. My problem wasnt the subject matter, I can open my mind to most topics including incest.

I read this book in a day, purely as I knew once I put it down I'd unlikely pick it up again. The only reason I did finish was because I read as a buddy read with a great group!

It has taken me nearly four days to compose myself to write this review.

WOW!! What a freaking book!

I was torn apart constantly through this story. What these poor young kids have to go through is so wrong and frustrating. (I wanted to absolutely strangle the bitch of a mother.)

Now whilst the subject of this book is very taboo, you can't put aside your feelings for both of the main characters. I felt kinda dirty to actually want them both to be together, but I guess faced in the same situation ...more

Ok so this book not be for everyone, and the subject matter was crazy, but it was amazing. I laughed and crude and just so enjoyed this book. Some people won't read this book due to what it is about, and that's what took me so long to read it, but after I read it I was stunned, it was a beautiful love story and wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, it was tasteful and done in a great manner.
