“Fucking, Jesus. God, Zoey. You kill me, baby. So fucking hot.”

So, how have I not read anything by this author before?
For a fairly short book, Mari Carr wove a story I was able to connect with and become totally invested in both the MC’s. This was a spectacular friends to lovers story about Zoey and Robbie.

They met when they were ten and became best friends and stayed so until their mid 30’s when a life altering situation occurred that set them up for a more than friends relationship.

This book did not drag. There really was no "oh, I can't tell him I have cancer" until the very end. I hate those stories that drag the main point in the book until the very end.

This was a short, wonderful, feel- good book which I devoured in one sitting. If you have had a stressful week at work, or the kids are just driving you crazy, then this is a fabby book to read, enjoy and escape for an evening.
The beautiful relationship formed between the two main characters, Robbie and Zoey, was adorable and I loved reading both their POV. The flashbacks to their childhood friendship really allowed me to connect to the characters; they shared so many remarkable moments togethe

I really enjoyed this book. I think the author did a good job portraying a difficult topic without it overshadowing the whole book. I loved the characters, loved the flashbacks. I do think it would have been a little more believable that they stayed platonic for so many years if they didn't live with each other for the majority of the time. But other than that I think it was a great story. ...more
