Ok, you all know I love my Badass Alpha males, but now and again I like to read about a decent, nice, honourable guy and Gavin Blake sure is one of them. How did I miss this book before now? I am kinda glad I did because it did end on a sort of “cliffy” and I was able to dive straight into the next one straight away. Not usually a fan of love triangles but if you meet the one you are meant to be with what can you do?

Believe it or not, but I actually loved this book. It was not a happily ever after and though not the ending we all hope for, “Collide” had every twist and turn and was completely unpredictable. It was a different type of love story, one that showed physical and mostly mental abuse. Sometimes love blinds us and though yes we tend to make other people crazy with our choices and our blindness of reality this book made us extremely frustrated. Emily weak, indecisive and a mess, not only upset most Believe it or not, but I actually loved this book. It was not a happily ever after and though not the ending we all hope for, “Collide” had every twist and turn and was completely unpredictable. It was a different type of love story, one that showed physical and mostly mental abuse. Sometimes love blinds us and though yes we tend to make other people crazy with our choices and our blindness of reality this book made us extremely frustrated. Emily weak, indecisive and a mess, not only upset most of us, but downright pissed me off so that I would of liked to given her a dig instead of the loser boy-friend Dillon she chose. Emily did not make it easy for any of us, nor did Gail (Author). Which I think was one of the feelings Gail was going for when she wrote the book (mission accomplished)!

Love isn't easy, if it were there would be no challenge, no excitement, the passion. It would be boring. Yes, it would be nice if there were not complications, but would there be HEAT. Besides I think Gail was also trying to send us a message with the story…and the abuse came through loud and clear.

So many times I thought Emily was going to catch Dillon cheating, the one time she does its only because Dillon involved Gavin (where her true feelings lie). Still Dillon continues to get away with all his shenanigans and poor Gavin with a rep which I’m beginning to believe was bestrode upon him to make people think he’s a player when he actually is Princes charming. Thus is the reason behind Emily not believing Gavin when he tried to explain Gina in the apartment.

Being a mess before Emily came into his life, Gavin has put up a good front, but now Emily messes with him and I’m starting to wonder who’s the one abused being indecisive. He has admit numerous times that he knows she is his soul mate, that he has known since their first encounter, and when they finally get together they realize…, and OMG the heat between them is undeniable. What he wants for them are what they both want which makes this book sooooo frustrating. “I want the late-night drives, the sunset watching, the screaming, the yelling and the crying, loads of kids, mint green minivan, and family.” I thought this was absolutely brilliant!

(personal experience) When my friend’s husband left her she cried wondering why. She said they never fought, so after 9 yrs he up and left. I explained that was their problem. I've been together with my other-half what seems like a hundred years and we argue, we have many differences but yet we talk (sometimes yell). That’s part of love disagreeing and making-up.

For every frustrated part in the book, Gavin’s words to Emily would erase them and give you hope that something wonderful may come out in the end “I want it all, Emily. I want to spend my nights holding hands with you, I want the laughing and forehead kisses, the date nights the movie watching and the breakfast making.” “Forget about his teasing touch, his words alone had Emily feeling as though she was about to com-bust.”
