I've always heard great things about Linda Howard, but with so many books out there, I've just never gotten around to reading any of her work.I know. I must be living under a rock. Even though her marriage has fallen apart, and friends and family tell her she should give up Milla refuses to do so. She has created an organization that finds missing children, and she continues the search for her son. For years Milla seemed to be running around in circles until she receives an anonymous tip about the whereabouts of a man named Diaz who can help her. The name Diaz alone is enough to inspire fear in the hearts of men. When Milla comes face to face with him, not only does he save her life but he surprises her by agreeing to help her find her son.

He unsnapped her jeans and said, “I want you just like this.” Then he kissed her. There was nothing romantic about Diaz, no murmured sweet things, no gallant gestures, just this kiss that went on and on, deep and voracious. She’d never been kissed like this before, with an intensity that stripped everything down to the simplest components: male, female. He held her with his hand burrowed into her hair, her skull gripped in his palm, her head tilted back while he fed from her mouth. That was what it felt like, a taking. And yet he gave, too. He gave pleasure. She burned with it, the flames fueled by nothing more than his mouth and tongue.

My Thoughts
I enjoyed every minute of this. After starting it I became distracted by some new releases but when I picked it up again I was immersed once again in Milla's quest to find her son. The relationship between Milla and Diaz is slow building. It was truly a testament to a mother's love to witness Milla's unwavering pursuit to find her son, and track the kidnappers. Even though Diaz helped her, Milla's bravery and determination were the driving forces behind the story. I adored Diaz. He's silent, dark, deadly and dangerous. He's an anti-hero and there are no flowery words or extravagant gestures but his love for Milla is evident in his steadfastness, and if I had to use a phrase to describe it, I would say it was a "quiet type of love." There’s nothing fancy, or outlandish about Milla or Diaz, it’s just a man and woman coming together to accept and love each other. Many of my friends said they cried while reading this, but I didn't. Sure it was sad at a particular scene, but most of all I was elated and deeply pleased. I loved how the story ended and I would definitely recommend this to romantic suspense and Linda Howard fans.

Cry No More is one of the most touching books I've read. A beautiful story of hope, endurance and of course love.

She felt both relaxed and protected with him, at least from outside forces. Nothing, it seemed, could protect her from him, and tonight she wasn’t even certain she wanted to be. Claimed, and mated. She was his, but was he hers? And if he was, what in hell did they do about it?

Cry No More was a heart wrenching story of Milla, a mother who is desperately trying to hold onto the hope of finding her son who was stolen literally out of her arms a decade earlier.

I didn't quite know how to react to this book. I am not a big fan of romantic suspense and I really would categorize this one as more of a action/suspense novel with the romantic elements being barely a sub-plot. But despite my normal discrimination against non-romance books I really did enjoy it.
