Oh. My. Goodness. What a mess. I thought Juliet Immortal was torturous but wait till you read Romeo Redeemed. I have no words for the fantasy the author created. It's brilliant in a way, but if you think too much about the hows & whys, it gives you a headache. I don't know if I should applaud for the imagination or simply hate it. It was a little too much to handle.

Romeo Redeemed is better than Juliet Immortal in many aspects. The characters were much clear, and their emotions were genuine, and very relatable. They knew what they had to do, and most importantly they had trust between them. Ariel was a good narrator, I loved that she could tell the difference between wrong & right, and didn't let anyone color her judgement. Romeo had a different character in this book which is quite understandable given the things he went through in the last one. He was nice, caring, affectionate, and didn't wanted anything bad to happen to Ariel. In simple words, he didn't wanted to repeat his mistakes, and I found him very charming at times. I'm glad to have read his story.

So where did everything went wrong? Well, the world building was a little over the top. In the last book we learned about parallel universe. It sounds weird but let me explain. There are different realities depending on the different choices people make in their lives, and those different realities make the parallel universe. Say I made a choice to break up with my boyfriend, that's one reality. In a different reality, I made a choice to marry him. It's a wonderful concept, I loved it, and it would have easily turned out to be my favorite book, if it was done right. The problem I had was that if was used to an extend that was just mind-boggling.

If we are done with one story, I don't see a point to mess it up, and start it from scratch. Juliet's story was over & done, she was happy with Ben, and that was the end of it. I don't see why the author changed their reality, and they had to work again to get back together. That part was not needed, and it was also one of the reasons I didn't like the book that much because as you all know, I'm not the biggest fan of Juliet. (You can read all about it here.)

The bottom line to everything I said is that I don't regret reading the story, I'm happy I got a chance to know about Romeo & Ariel. I'm still sad that Romeo & Juliet couldn't be together because they do have the most memorable romance in the history, but that's okay, this is fiction. Romeo Redeemed has one of the best fantasies I've read, but I would have loved it so much more if it wasn't over done. This book has to be read as a sequel, not a standalone. Things will be more confusing if you just pick this one up without reading the first book in the series. Give it a try, maybe you'll have different opinions than I did.
