I was going to give this a solid 3-stars, because Sel is the most doofus of all dorkuses and I wanted to put his entire head in my armpit and bully him, but it really literally lost the plot towards back half of the book. There was less structure than the first one so while the worldbuilding was super interesting, the way it was implemented didn't really have a route that made sense. I liked lots of things about this book, but I disliked the direction(s) that the romantic interests are going, and how *busy* it was. Trying to do too much imo. I hope I'm wrong about where the romance is headed, since this is very much a YA series. I guess we'll find out in 2025. ...more
