This book was amazing. I think it will take more than one reading to take it all in. It was the first thing I'd read by Neil Gaiman, and it won't be the last!

Well, since I grew up on German folklore and European Gods, I wasn't impressed. The only thread I liked, and the only one I fully remember is that of the missing kids in the Northern town -- and it was only a minor side-thread in the novel. One scene I enjoyed despite not much liking the rest, and that was the visit to the House on the Rocks in Wisconsin. I don't think I ever have to struggle to read a Neil Gaiman books before. His books are always weird, in a good way, to me but this one took my reading experience to the whole new level. For one, it's a huge book with lots of characters that has their own story that are intertwine each other, sometimes in a mess kind of connection. Not to mention that after lots of pages I still don't have any idea where the story will go.
