The blurb made me think of The Princess and the Frog. Well…I did think this is its retelling. But I got so much more than one retelling as this book has many fairytale stories I can count.

And the best part is it worked well for me. The Princess and the Frog retelling is the main idea of Sunday Woodcutter and Rumbold story but their story is also stretch to Sleeping Beauty, Twelve Dancing Princesses, Jack and the Beanstalk, Cinderella and I believe there are few more fairy tales. I picked up this book not knowing quite what to expect. And I loved it. Fairytale lovers, fantasy readers, if you are looking to be lost in the tale of a wonderfully complementary family that is money poor but personality rich, pick this book. A young woman meets her very own Mr. Right... except he's a frog. Though he appreciates her quarks and she feels at peace with him, her kiss just doesn't cut it. (Anyone else had a first kiss that wasn't quite as magical as expected?) And then the plot thi

A magical mix of fairytale and mystery!
I really enjoyed all of the beautiful descriptions and felt that the writing reminded me a lot of an old fairytale with its poetic words. This story puts a whole new spin on the classic Frog Prince and though it does have that basic storyline it takes it to a whole new level. Enchanted interweaves some other fairytale favorites into the mix as well. There is a bit of a dark edge to this fairytale though, but it does give it some mystery which kept me on th ...more

Review from A Journey Through Pages
I have a hard time resisting a fairytale adaptation, this is a well known fact.
It's even harder for me to resist when more than one fairytale is woven into a story, as is the case with Enchanted. This book sets up as a retelling of the "Frog Prince" with the mention of a rhyme (the sisters' names) and the adventurous eldest brother, Jack, who is the hero of so many tales, but as since disappeared (assumed dead).
But, where the "Frog Prince" ends is where the rea ...more

This is a fun story that will keep you guessing at all the fairy tale references. It's a fresh twist with good characters and a good story.
Sunday is the 7th daughter of a 7th daughter. Her other sisters are also named for days of the week. Sunday likes to write stories, but she mostly sticks to things that have already happened, because the things she writes tend to come true.
She finds a nice frog to tell stories too, he tells her how much he likes them (because, talking frog). And since he's ...more
