Fairy Tale My biggest problem with this book is that it switches main characters part way through. I didn't want to leave the first heroine, which made me emotionally detached from the second. I think if this had been two separate novels I would have enjoyed it much more.

I liked this book quite a bit. The retelling of Sleeping Beauty was unique and interesting. It felt a bit awkward in places; images were a little confusing and hard to keep straight in some of the final scenes. Perhaps it is because I felt that there were some holes in the descriptive action, more like movie cut-scenes than a book. Unfortunately, cut-scenes can show with one or two images what it would take pages to write. It isn't a style that transfers well. Still, there were only a few places

I am sad that my review was not saved. I liked that the familiarity of the spindle had its own saving grace. This is an interesting retelling.
