I resisted reading Gone Girl for quite awhile; everyone you talked to claimed it as their favorite book and I still had the bad taste of another "everbody loves this" book that was repulsive and just plain bad. Then, I decided I would at least try it to see what all the fuss was about. Alas, my to-be-read pile was extremely tall and it had a long wait for it's turn.

Amy disappears on her 5th wedding anniversary and Nick, her husband, is the prime suspect. The story is told in alternating points of view, and at first I was totally ready to convict Nick. Amy had me on her side with the diary and once Nick's infidelity was exposed, I even felt inclined to cheer her payback plan on. Stupid, stupid Nick! I caught myself practically slamming the book down a few times when I took breaks from reading this amazing story because of wanting to grab Nick by the shoulders and giving him a good shake (and maybe a face slap) to make him pay attention. Gillian Flynn brings you into the story and you can't leave!
