ive read a lot of books having to do with WWII, the holocaust, and concentration camps and most of them are historical fiction even though some are based on true stories. i didnt realize this book was actually based on the story of the author's real family until i read the ending notes written by the author so now it makes a lot more sense as to why there were so many characters and storylines - at first i thought it was a bit tedious to keep track of but each of them were representative of actu
