I think this is my favorite read of the summer! The story of Kya and how she lived her life was written so beautifully! Even though I probably wouldn't love the marsh and it's bugs, the descriptions in this story make me love it (if you understand what I mean!)! After being abandoned to her drunk father by the rest of her family when she is like 7(?), Kya learns to take care of herself in every aspect. A few town folk see her trying and help her a little, but she is really raised by the land. Sh
