The first half of the book I was like; What the heck am I reading?! But as I read on it got much better and I actually came to love the characters! Can't wait for Muse of Nightmares 🤗

Excuse me Laini Taylor, where is the second book? That ending had me wanting to scream my voice hoarse because I did not see it coming. I'm so excited for the second book in this duology now! If you don't know, Strange the Dreamer is about this boy named Lazlo Strange who always dreamed of going to this city called Weep that lost its name. He's been obsessed with it, studying it since he was young. He finally gets the chance to go to Weep and he finds that there is so much more to it than he eve

Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor
Lazlo is the dreamer of my heart!!! I went into this thinking that I probably would not love it but would enjoy the story thoroughly that I would probably be left on a cliffhanger, as this style of writing is Laini Taylor’s signature! I thought this because I really enjoyed her other series The Daughter of Smoke and Bone but I did not LOVE it. With this in mind, I delved deep into the world of one Lazlo Stra ...more

I am truly blown away by this book. I was so intimidated to start Strange the Dreamer because I don’t read high fantasy often and I worried that the mix of a fantasy world and lyrical writing would go right over my head, thankfully that didn’t happen. It took me over a month to finish it but I’m glad I took my time and devoured every word.

I thought that I would never see the end of this book!
It took me a month and I had to switch from reading it to listening to it, otherwise, I wouldn't have finished it.
I love the concept of the story and Lazlo and Saraï are amazing but it's the storytelling that bugged me. I just couldn't get into it and that was very strange for me since I loved Laini Taylor's writing so much in her previous books. In this one, I felt like the story got lost in too much flowery prose, and as beautiful as it is ...more

Part 1 was a 5 Star read for me!
But after that it took a different direction from what I had expected and hoped for....
But I have to say beautiful writing but the story wasn't really my thing :( ...more

Guys, can I just say that these books were absolutely FANTASTIC?! I don't know why I was hesitating so much to read these but I completely fell in love with the world and the characters and pretty much everything about this book. I kind of wish there was more to the story especially when Lazlo and the rest go off on that journey at the end - it would definitely be interesting to read more about it. But anyways, I loved this book.

I have no words for how beautiful this book is. Everything, not just the writing, but also the mythology, the characters, the story, the dreams, just everything is perfection. It is so moving.
But then this is Laini Taylor, so it couldn't have been anything less. ...more
