Here we are...the end (or is it?) of a phenomenal series that swept the nation. This book had a number of unecessary rambling little episodes that seem to be hallmark of Christopher Paolini, but also the intense action and "enchanting" sorcery that we have come to expect from the Inheritance Cycle.

My biggest problem with this book was, like many other people on this site, the ending. I won't disclose the details for fear of spoiling it, but if you're a "happily ever after" sort of person like m ...more

Shelves: fantasy, epic, disappointment, wasted-potential

I love the Inheritance Saga, but I felt this book lacked the magic found in Eragon and Brisingr. Those books were two of the best books I've read, and I kinda wish Christopher Paolini had been able to keep that going.

Unfortunately, he couldn't. The book hopped around constantly, which I didn't find nice. Also, a lot of parts were pretty boring. I will say this: he knows how to write a story, and I'm satisfied with the way he ended it.
