Maybe not one of my favorite Hoffman titles, but still good. The paths of two women, Lucy and Bethany, who have left New York with their children after divorce, cross at a condominium complex in Verity, Florida. One ends up dead, which sets in motion a chain of events that brings together two children, an elderly foster mother, and Julian Cash, a K9 cop with a bitter past.
