An Englishman attends an art exhibition of the works of Bella Sinclair and Fran Hunter. Fran featured in the first Shetland book, Raven Black, as an incomer who discovered the bodies of both Catherine Ross and Catriona Bruce. Since that time, she and Jimmy Perez have been building a friendship that is about to become something more.
