I have no words for this book. There are a lot of pieces, so I’m going to break it down. But again. No words. It’s such a touching story that makes you feel complete and empty after you finish. Yes, at the same time. It’s one of those stories.

DARKSTALKER:
He’s a really complex character, and even in the Jade Mountain books you can tell. He thinks he’s doing the right thing, but it just goes too far. I think he’s one of the only NightWings that isn’t boring. At least he’s got personality! I feel b I have no words for this book. There are a lot of pieces, so I’m going to break it down. But again. DARKSTALKER:
He’s a really complex character, and even in the Jade Mountain books you can tell. He thinks he’s doing the right thing, but it just goes too far. I think he’s one of the only NightWings that isn’t boring. At least he’s got personality! I feel bad for him, honestly, but the things he does… I can’t even say. I think his mother Foeslayer was just setting it up for him. Who names their kid Darkstalker?!! It’s bound to be bad. And three full moons… it’s crazy. But I still feel bad for him, especially after reading this sad and tragic book.

CLEARSIGHT:
She’s got good intentions, but she has a lot of trouble seeing that Darkstalker is bad. Finally Fathom convinces her, but I feel even worse for her than Darkstalker. If you read the third arc of the series you see in the prologue her thoughts about Darkstalker. It’s painful and heartbreaking. Clearsight is VERY intelligent and is really good at tracing paths of the future. I like her, but she just doesn’t have enough depth.

FATHOM:
Yes, Fathom plays an important role in the story, but I feel like he’s mostly there for animus magic backup info. Albatross, his uncle I think but not sure, is the animus who goes insane (mentioned in The Lost Heir) and the massacre involves Fathom, but friends stick together, right? Fathom didn’t stick with Darkstalker. He shouldn’t have even been his friend. Actually, he realized later that Darkstalker was too powerful and he convinced Clearsight to go against him but still, there were hints of betrayal I didn’t really like.

ADDITIONAL NOTES:
- I liked the old Pyrrhian map in the beginning. It helped to picture the old Night Kingdom from the Jade Mountain arc.
- I think without this Legends book, there would be less perspective from people on Darkstalker.
- This book is definitely something Tui Sutherland put time into because it’s really touching. Either that or she’s just incredibly smooth at writing.
- I recommend this so much. If you like Wings of Fire… this is something you need to know about. You might regret it, you might not, but it’s a beautiful read.

THIS BOOK IS SO GOOD! But this has SO MUCH EMTION so be prepared. This book is also really sad ( you know what I mean if you have read it before). What I like about it is there is so many cute moments with Clearsight and Darkstalker. The part I don’t like is it’s always the a,as thing Clearsight worrying about the future, she also sometimes ruins the cute moments. Anyway this book is 5/5 definitely reccomend!
