FOUR & A HALF STARS--After reading this story, I am definitely an Elle Aycart fan. "More Than Meets the Ink" meets my requirements. Elle and James meet under different circumstances (both met while visiting their parents are next-door neighbors at a retirement complex in Florida). From the moment they meet...there's just something. These two have that spark, that chemistry. And a banging chemistry at that. Elle has prejudices and hang-ups and takes them out on James and he took it in stride.

I had no idea what I was getting in to when I began reading More Than Meets the Ink... But right off, you are thrown in to the dynamics of how this story is going to go...
Tate is crawling on her belly with her mom next to her in her mom's neighbor's yard... Yeah, this whole scene captures you only to make you laugh to know it is because her mom is accusing the neighbor of kidnapping her cat..does that not just make for immediate attention grabbing?
Well, lo and behold, I am captivated and then BAM... In walks sex on a stick James...
Instant attraction?? Oh hell yes...
And here we go... Right out of the gates... Week long vacation fling? Why not? Tate knows that James is just the "typical bad boy" with his tattoos showing.., so, obviously no emotions attached and why not just relax and enjoy herself? I would have to agree with hottie James in front of me offering...
So, with much effort, they finally get some alone time.. Yeah, their planned sex moments didn't always happen when your parents are in a retirement community.. LOL!!!
But, this book isn't just about a fling.. It carries so much more with it...
With both Tate and James being from Boston, they find that the attraction they felt in the beginning lingered. It wasn't something either could ignore and this brings us to the steamy passionate tale More than Meets the Ink is.
Tate and James are fantastic characters that I loved getting to know. I mean, both carrying baggage that hinders relationships to prosper, yet ultimately accepting what they have for each other is momentous.
There is heartache, moments of elation, snarky humor, and did I mention HOT sex??? With a swoon worthy man??? Ok Just want to make sure you are with me...
This book is one of those books that you don't want to put down.. You open up those pages and find yourself immersed in well developed characters, growing throughout their journey, pulling you all the way through...
I highly recommend reading this arousing, sultry, romantic story.. It is not one you want to miss!!

Oh I am a sucker for a man in tats and James was all that and more. Loved the book, loved the characters..well for the most part anyway. There was a time or two I wanted to reach in there and choke the daylights out of Tate for being so mean to James just because she had this vision of his "type" but other than that it was all good. LOL ...more

After all not all women are born with the desire to fall in love and the ability to recognize a good man among all the losers out there.

More Than Meets the Ink isn't just a steamy romance though, there's a bit of humor in it as well. Readers get to meet Tate in the middle of a rather odd situation with her mother. Let's just say it's not the sexiest way Tate could have met James. It isn't all laughs and fun times though, Tate has emotional scars, as well as an independent streak 10 miles wide that runs parallel with a stubborn streak. She shows that while an independent woman is special and admirable, too much independence turns into stubbornness, and can cloud rational sense. In other words, a real woman with real issues.

Then there's James, and by the way, I would never have associated the name "James" to a tattooed bad boy. "James" sounds like the name of a smart, quiet, shy, nerdy guy in accounting who has trouble with women. Not Elle Aycart's James. He's an Alpha male all the way and his name is just as misleading as his tattoos. He's a heart melting character. It doesn't take long for him to figure out that he wants Tate in his life permanently and he sets out to prove he's not the leaving kind. With him, it's the little things that he does for Tate that makes him all the more desirable.

The chemistry between James and Tate is scorching! The sexual tension in the book is like a blocked valve, the pressure builds and builds until -boom- it explodes and goes back to its original state, only to start building again for the next explosion. And boy are those "explosions" between James and Tate hot.

To balance out the sometimes intense relationship between James and Tate, James' brothers, especially Max, lighten up the mood and provided much appreciated humor, as do Tate's sister Elle and their mother Ann. I do hope that Elle gets her own book soon, she makes Tate seem like a kitten in comparison.

More Than Meets the Ink by Elle Aycart is an enjoyable book with likeable characters, steamy scenes and a dash of danger. Definitely a book for mature audiences, due to sexual content and language, it is worth taking a second look at in the book store. Especially if you have a thing for men with tattoos and soft hearts. ...more

Holy Freakin Hotness Batman...okay so sometimes I had to laugh and blush at the sametime. Some of things that are said did have me blushing a little and that my friends is HARD to do. Yet I loved it. I don't know why but I loved it. James is definitely a take charge kind of guy. He wants to take care of the people he loves whether they want him to or not.
