What Members Thought
It is really striking how different this book is from The Iliad (which I read first).
The Iliad is massive in scope, and every time any character dies we get their backstory, so the reader has a sense of how intense the Trojan War is. Also The Iliad follows many different characters throughout - Achilles, Hector, Diomedes, etc. The Odyssey, on the other hand, zeroes in on one person (Odysseus - though we to get some bits with his son Telemachus) and follows his journey back home to Ithaca.
