9/10 | The New Jim Crow is like a lot of famous progressive non-fiction in that it delivers a blistering critique of an unnoticed social problem (at least in white circles), but unlike much of the leftist canon it actually posits real political and cultural solutions to the problems presented. Some of those solutions are radical even for me, but I appreciate that such sweeping plans receive an argument far more intelligent and compelling than when I usually see such ideas as lazy Reddit posts.
