I don't understand how the average review is so high for this book. It is badly organized, overly personal and tedious to read. The analysis is superficial and I feel I don't understand any more about the language of cults than I did before. It also seems badly researched and several comments struck me as immediately wrong - casual comments about feminism and class were totally off base, and seemingly only present in the book to make it sound more intellectual and less like a glorified podcast e
