I had been searching for the past year to find a book as comprehensive as this on CIA tactics and US foreign policy. How the US got away with forcing their capitalism and “democracy” on others is disturbing.
An excellent chronicling on the history of the U.S. governments frequent and violent interventions through the 3rd world in pursuit of imperialist capitalist hegemony post WWII. Propping up authoritarian regimes after assisting in deposing democratic governments, mass disappearances of civilian populations, exporting these terror techniques across the globe, and the effects through the late 20th century into today.
Absolutely incredible work by Bevins. Must read for anyone interested in leftist history and the implications it has for today. Still in shock at some the atrocities outlined in this book.
