Whilst it doesn't quite live up to its title and it's more a history of Socialism, the good and the bad, if you combine reading it and "Why You Should Be a Socialist" by Nathan J. The world history sections got really dry at times, but there were some pretty insightful nuggets in there. The last handful of chapters were my favorite as they analyzed US history. Although, I would have liked more about the future, I felt that was an oversight. This should have been more forward thinking.
