What Members Thought
I have mixed feelings about this book. I really like some parts, but I also hate one or two chapters of the book.
The characters are hateable, even though I don't mind them not to be likeable. The good thing about this book is that I couldn't put it down. Ha Jin is able to stir the reader's emotion. I shed a tear towards the end of the book. It must be tough to be Lin, but he chose that path.
