Firstly each writer has their own way of writing and Sufi mysticism is a concept that's not going to be grasped by everyone.
When I read a book, I'm more interested in the soul of it so to speak, I want to get lost in it instead of being pedantic and concentrating on outer mistakes, which I feel is missing the point of reading a book. Hmmm concentrating too much on the outer niggles than letting yourself delv into the soul of it, something Shams of Tabriz would probably say ;oD

قواعد العشق الاربعون ..
هذه الرواية انتشلتني من عالمي الى عالم آخر مغاير تماماً ..
عالم بلا بدايات او نهايات ..
فيه الخطوط المتعرجة كالمستقيمة كالمائلة كالرأسية كالأفقية ..
فلا وجود للزمن سوى هذه اللحظة فقط ..
الانسياب بين يدي اللحظة هو كما انسياب ذرات التراب بين يدي التبريزي لما كان يحدث حبيبه تحت الشجرة ..
علمتني ان في داخل كل منا سكران وزانية ومؤمن وكافر وزنديق ورجل دين وعاشق وقاتل واولاً واخيراً باحث عن الله ..
فنحن بشر بكل تناقضاتنا ..
كل منا يتمنى لو له مرآة كمرآة المتسول تذكره أن بداخله ن ...more

" The forty rules of love" is one of these books who made you love them and cant put it down untill you finished it.
I recommemd it to everybody who is on his journey to find God inside his/her self.
I enjoyed my travel beyonf time and places. I liked how Ella became again the woman that she was before marying David.
Across the forty rules, you will discover another meaning of love, you will find God in everything in this universe.
Moreover, the book contains stries said by Shams when he wanted to e ...more

I am glad that I read this book, it was an easy to read type book which you can finish real fast with short chapters not longer than 3 to 4 pages. Each chapter is narrated by different characters which gives the story more dimensions and wider perspective plus if you can get bore easily this is good recipe to avoid boredom. I had read "Rumi's daughter" and couple of prose books earlier about Rumi's life and knew the story of Shams and Rumi well, but it was an interesting experience to read it in

فزيادةً على أن الكتاب يُسافر بك في الزنان و المكان في نفس الوقت, فهو غذاء للروح, يجعل روحك تُحلّق مع الدراويش و المتوصوّفة, و يُعلّمك أساليب ولههم وعشقِه الوباني.
