Okay so in the beginning, we meet Nora and Patch. Let me start with Patch because I need to get all these emotions out before I explode. Okay so in the beginning, we meet Nora and Patch. Let me start with Patch because I need to get all these emotions out before I explode. So when we first meet Patch, every girl is drooling over him because he's so hot. In fact he's BEAUTIFUL, but then he opens his mouth and you can see that he's also very blunt and doesn't really have a filter. Which is fine in most cases but in this one...omg i wanted to rip my hair out! So he starts asking Nora questions which is all fine and dandy until he asks something so stupid and personal. The conversation goes as follows:

Another thing that i don't like is that in the beginning, Patch seemed to know everything about Nora (he shouldn't have outed himself by telling her, basically, that he stalks her all day everyday. I mean if he wants to kill her, he shouldn't freak her out weeks before he's going to do it. Yes I know he studied her, but he could at least act like a normal teenager, if that's even a thing)and how he embarrassed her in front of the ENTIRE class when the teacher asked him what he saw in a "potential" mate and how he knows she's "game". (On a side note, a teacher shouldn't really be asking students questions like this even if it is to prove a point or for their own self amusement.) Patch started describing Nora and saying that she was blushing and nervous. IN FRONT OF EVERYONE! If you ask me, Patch is a class A jerk in the beginning.

As the book progresses though, we grow to love him and are more drawn to his character. Even though he does have flaws, it doesn't make us blind to him falling in love with Nora. My favorite part was when he took her on The Archangel. That was pretty funny. Especially when he said,"Now that's what I call a scream," when the ride was over with. Soon after that part his actions and emotions do improve in the story, once we realize he doesn't want to kill her anymore. We see that real well when they have their heart-to-heart talk at the motel. That was interesting! ;)

Now onto Nora who in my opinion is kind of overly dramatic. Right after she meets Patch, she wants a new seat. I personally would get to know my enemy and try to see what his character is like. She gives up way too easily, but I do have to say that she is protective and doesn't want anyone involved in what she's going through. To me, she's kind of overly paranoid (before she knows about angels and stuff) and has a death wish. (maybe for her friends too) Nora saw the guy in the hoodie (while shopping with Vee) who keeps following her and then decided that she wants to introduce herself, but wait, it gets better. She has Vee go out and draw him away so she can jump him. I was getting ready to shoot something. Then when Vee is in the hospital Nora almost starts crying because she should have never let Vee go outside with that stalker face. Too late now! You NEVER let your best friend (let alone anyone) go into danger by themselves. I don't care if you have to tie them up to a chair with rope and duct tape! They will NOT be leaving the room until they promise to not go for the nearest danger zone! Needless to say, it was all Nora's fault. She could have stopped Vee, but chose not to. Now, I'm not going to even bring up Marcy Millar for the sake of me still being sane when I finish this review. You'll all be thanking me later once you read the other books.

Then there is Jules and Elliot who in my opinion are too creepy. Jules (Chauncey) drove me insane with his consistent disappearing acts. I mean the guy could have been a magician! (he kind of was). I mean, he was no good for Vee anyway. Then you have Elliot who decides its alright to go to Nora's house drunk and act like a 'beep' to her just because she didn't have feelings for him. Personally, I was wishing that Nora just punched him straight in the nose for that stunt he pulled.

Now, there were good things to this book,too, but those were just the flaws of it. I mean every book has flaws and those were the ones I stumbled upon. The rest of the book was amazing and had a satisfying ending which helped settle the hunger for the sequel to this book. I mean Patch got his wings back AND became Nora's guardian angel. Chauncey (Jules) is dead and so is Elliot. Everyone is safe so far(for now), too. Everything is as it should be, but I doubt the perfectness of this book will remain for the rest of the series. Just keep praying, right? All in all, Becca Fitzpatrick did a really awesome job on this book and I can't wait to read the next one!
