This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers. To view it, click here. I was so happy with this book on so many levels. It was absolutely vital to me that there be a happy ending. A believable happy ending. And I cannot complain because I got it. I read this monster-sized book in just over 24 hours. At first, I didn't like Jacob's point of view. Not because I don't like Jacob. He's grown on me quite a bit and I adore him. But because it was a distraction. I couldn't seem to get a grasp on what was really going on between Edward and Bella because it was seen through I was so happy with this book on so many levels. At first, I didn't like Jacob's point of view. Not because I don't like Jacob. He's grown on me quite a bit and I adore him. But because it was a distraction. I couldn't seem to get a grasp on what was really going on between Edward and Bella because it was seen through Jacob's eyes. But retrospectively, it was a really good way to break up the big book and Jacob's sense of humor was a welcome change considering all the drama that was going on. I believe Jacob changed the most and matured in a matter of weeks into someone I can trust and respect completely. That's what all the characters did in this book and that's what's got people so upset. They changed, because that's how life progresses. Bella got married, became a mother, defended her family, etc. These things are huge. Her biggest concern in life was no longer how long can she kiss Edward before he pulls away. Not that that wasn't great fiction for the last three books, but it was time to put the angst behind us, the love triangle and move on. And that is what the author did for us. I admit, I missed the little fights between Bella and Edward and their deep conversations about life, death, his soul, her soul, the wolves, etc. It wasn't there like it was before and I could have used a few more quotable lines of love from Edward to his Bella. But the book was plenty big without all that. After she became a vampire, I guess there was no need for too much fighting.

I was so glad to see Bella become the hero. She has been so helpless in the last three books. It was so amazing to watch her come into her power and use it save the ones she loved. And to watch the Volutri's astonishment at her abilities. She was proud of herself. She finally felt whole and in control. She was the hero and I LOVE that.

The only reason I didn't give it five stars like the others was because it felt a little rushed and because I think she should have left Charlie out. That part just seemed like it was thrown in there to include everyone. He and Bella were honestly not that close and she should have faked her funeral and kept him in the dark. He and Sue would have still ended up together and Bella wouldn't have had to feel sad for him because he wouldn't be alone.

I didn't feel the end was anti-climactic. It was totally fine with me that there wasn't a war. The suspense leading up to it was enough to give me an ulcer so mission accomplished without all the blood and unnecessary Cullen deaths.

I definitely see more books in the series coming in the next few years. Not from Bella's point of view, but from Renesmee's or Leah's. And who doesn't love Garret, right?! The author left the door open and hopefully she will treat us with some more of her vampire world in the future. ...more

Well, I liked it--a lot.

I liked how it worked out. I liked how Bella grew and changed, how she learned who she really was and how to be herself. I liked how Edward turned out and how much he loved her and understood who she really was. I liked how Jacob told his part of the story--it was great to get inside his head--I love his ironic sense of humor--and how he found what he was really looking for, too.

So far, this one is better than books 2 and 3, perhaps better than book 1. Bella still whines to much, unfortunately, but Meyer has created a world where you care for the characters and you believe that they truly care about each other. I was thoroughly satisfied by the ending, and glad to see that she left openings for future books.

I have read this whole series and I loved it. You could not help but just get pulled in by all the characters. Very emotional points of view. It is all about the feelings!
