Without knowing much about this title aside from the cover and that Manning Norvil is a pen name of Kenneth Bulmer, I was all in. Sadly, like much of the books printed around the same time it compares this story or character to Howard's Conan. I didn't see the comparison. This story was bland, and boring. The fact that Odan was fathered by a 'god', maybe an extraterrestrial, in a far distant past and became an accomplished warrior and prince of a city state really sounded interesting to me, but ...more

This is fiction based on the concept of Chariots of the Gods. There are three books in the series, Dream Chariots, Whetted Bronze, and Crown of the Sword God. Manning Norvil is a pseudonym for the British writer Kenneth Bulmer.
