Davis's books bring to the reader the joys, fears, ambitions, magic and tragedy of Africa. This is an Africa filled with heroes and villains, gods and demons, tribes and cities. There are lush forests, wild rivers, untamed deserts and lofty mountains. It was easy to get caught up in the tale of two brothers separated at birth who later become supreme leaders and deadly adversaries.
