"Fantasy and horror in the tradition of Tolkien and Lovecraft!" More in the tradition of Philip K Dick and The Shaver Mystery, actually. "Tolkien and Lovecraft" indicates a level of craft or use of style that won't be found.

But "Philip K Dick" implies a slipperiness to reality or willingness to play with the reader's understanding or expectations, and that notion is dropped soon after the author tires of the concept. The idea that illusion overlays primitive circumstances is remarkably powerful

Adrian Cole's Dream Lord trilogy was a wonderful achievement. All the books are excellent. The other two are "Lord of Nightmares" and "Bane of Nightmares."

The cover of my version is better than this. I don't seem to be able to find an example of it, though.
